Staff Thoughts
Thank you for keeping Jessica McKinnon and her family in your thoughts. Jessica's grandmother passed away last week and they celebrated her through a service on Friday. Our school family support is always a blessing at times like this!
Family Event on THURSDAY
Our first family event for 2023-24 is scheduled this week on THURSDAY, 5:30-7:00. Thank you for those that are sharing the use of their classroom, video recorded number corner, and those that are helping organize Workplace games. Again our intention with this event is giving parents some exposure to Bridges Number Corner, Workplaces, and Technology options for home. We will have two-three classrooms per grade level being used depending on a quick Google survey response. We are now going to hold the technology portion in the cafeteria and put the cookies in the lobby as families leave. We will have some students from KHS Key Club helping as well so that teaching staff can be in the classrooms to interact with families about math and technology.

Mandatory Reporter Training -
As we discussed briefly at last week's staff meeting. We are due for Mandatory Reporter Training. Holly Parks has now sent the district-wide Mandatory Reporting Training to all staff through Frontline Central. Everyone can click right on the link in the email to complete the training. It should be nice and simple! A reminder that new hires (for the 2023/2024 school year) do NOT have to complete the training again if they have already done so. This training needs to be done by all staff, including administration, by Dec. 1st, 2023.

Click on link in email sent from Holly Parks to access the training easily. Once in Frontline, you will see the training as shown above. |
PT Conference Sign-Up -
We will begin working on our conference sign-up. Please be thinking about any families you need to pre-schedule time with. The SLT will discuss specifics of how we will schedule (i.e. in-person Tuesday/Thursday and virtual option Friday, all in person with virtual option available for families needing it) Ultimately you have been great at showing care and flexibility in meeting families needs the best we can. If you have any feedback, please let an SLT member or Stacy know. The sign-up will be sent to the whole school community on Nov 1st, so we will need to have any pre-scheduled conferences (i.e. Spec. Ed., EL, SSP, etc.) set before then.
Halloween -
As discussed and decided at our staff meeting last week, we will have an orange & black dress-up day on the 31st. No costumes. I will share this in the Family Blog as well.
#ObserveMe
1. Enter in at least two half hour blocks (more blocks if you'd like) that a colleague could come in and observe.
2. Choose two half hour blocks from 10/23 to 12/14 schedule an observation (academic and behavior). Staff may choose to observe over prep time, recess time, or swap a prep with a colleague.
3. Be sure to include the date you intend to observe and your name when you schedule the observation. Only one staff sign up per observation time.
4, Send a Google Calendar invite to the colleague you are observing.
5. Complete the Oct. - Dec. Take Away Sheet (link to be provided before 10/23) during the observation.
6. Make a copy share with the teacher you observed.

Yearbook Pictures
Please add any and all classroom pictures to our 23-24 Yearbook Pictures folder. We are always in need of more photos to use in our school yearbook.
Just a reminder to keep in mind the Do Not Publish Picture List when uploading pictures.
Thank you all!
