This week we share our thanks and appreciation to Jeffrey for his time with use the past 5 weeks to complete guest teaching for Hannah Cooksey.  Your return to teach and guide our students means the world to us Jeffrey. Your commitment to education, supporting our staff, and our schools continues to inspire us all.  Although this ends, we look forward to seeing you here and there for day to day guest teaching.  THANK YOU Jeffrey!

On December 6th we warmly welcome back Hannah Cooksey from her leave.  Ben and Hannah welcomed dear little Ada in September. We send our love and thanks to Ada in sharing you back with us Hannah!  Everyone, thank you for helping me in extending a warm welcome and support as she eases back into the rhythm of the school days. You have been missed Hannah and we're thrilled to have you back with us!

#ObserveMe

We are heading into the home stretch of our #Observeme cycle.  Squeeze in your final observation of a colleague if you haven't yet in the next 10 days.  We will be processing our take aways together during the Dec. 15th inservice day.

1.  Enter in at least two half hour blocks (more blocks if you'd like) that a colleague could come in and observe.
2.  Choose two half hour blocks from 10/23 to 12/14 schedule an observation (academic and behavior). Staff may choose to observe over prep time, recess time, or swap a prep with a colleague.
3.  Be sure to include the date you intend to observe and your name when you schedule the observation.  Only one staff sign up per observation time.
4,  Send a Google Calendar invite to the colleague you are observing.
5.  Complete the Oct. - Dec. Reflection Take Away Sheet during the observation.
6.  Make a copy share with the teacher you observed.

Yearbook Pictures

Please add any and all classroom pictures to our 23-24 Yearbook Pictures folder. We are always in need of more photos to use in our school yearbook.

Just a reminder to keep in mind the Do Not Publish Picture List when uploading pictures.

Thank you all!

Child Care Needs Assessment

Child care shortages nationwide have been an ongoing topic in news stories, among politicians, and in our local communities. Adequate access to quality, affordable child care is critical for families as well as our local economy.

The Kaukauna Area School District is currently gathering data in order to learn more about access to child care in our community, and how that impacts our staff, our families, and our local businesses.

As a KASD staff member, we would appreciate your input and perspective as we gather information about our local child care needs. Please note that the intent of this survey is solely to gather information and data around this issue, and it is not a commitment to any particular solution or future direction for the District.

If you could please fill out this brief Child Care Needs Assessment (4-5 questions) by Friday, December 15, it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you are not currently in need of child care for your own family, as a staff member and community member, your perspective on this topic is valuable.

5th Annual Excellence in Education Shining Star Awards

From these 10 award recipients, an Educator of the Year will be chosen and announced the night of the event. This award honors an educator who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving the quality of education in the Fox Cities region and who has an inspiring presence that motivates and influences students, colleagues, and the community.
Nominations close on Wednesday, January 10 at 3 PM. Recipients will be celebrated on March 21, 2024. If you have any questions, email Aimee Herrick at aherrick@foxcc.net.

PAC Holiday

The EQ PAC would like to provide you with up to $50 to be used in your classroom for classroom Holiday celebrations and/or crafts. We thought this would be a great way to give back to the students and spread a little extra Holiday Cheer. To be reimbursed for your purchases (except sales tax), please submit this form with receipts attached to Shaina by Fri, Dec. 22nd.
**Feel free to join with grade level team members to save time, money, and paperwork if you prefer!
