Important things to review...
- Click to view this helpful Seclusion and Physical Restraint document to learn the important ins and outs about the procedures when needing to utilize seclusion or physical restraint with students. Full policies -- Policy 445 and 445 Rule
- 5 year Mandatory Reporter Training coming due for School Safety & Abuse and Neglect. Our last training was in 2018 so it is time for an updated training. DPI is making changes and we will discuss at our October staff meeting about what is needed to complete the updated Mandatory Reporter Training. Stay tuned.
Frontline (prev. My Learning Plan) Now Ready
- This year you have until November 1st to complete your SLO.
- SLO is under "Goal Setting Process" in your evaluation are of Frontline. The document to complete is "Goal Setting Plan". Your SLO can relate to any of our EQ School Continuous Improvement Plans in Learning and Academics, Safe and Healthy Schools, and Retention/Connectedness.
- Consider a department or grade level goal as you collaborate and learn together.
- Self-Assessment – Choose one indicator as a strength in each standard and one indicator as a weakness in each standard. There are 6 standards. The indicators are the statements on the left 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. So you will have two boxes filled for each standard - one strength and one growth area. Write in your one sentence reflection for each. So twelve boxes/sentences in total.
- PPG – Professional Practice Goal -- The PPG tends to get confusing. This is NOT/should NOT be the same as your SLO. It should be, what are you going to do in your “own professional practices” to make an impact on…your SLO goal OR maybe one of the areas you noted for growth on the Self-Assessment. Here are a few examples so you can see the difference between the two SLO/PPG. Please note that these examples are very detailed, however, that is not necessarily the expectation in your SLO/PPG.

PLAY 60
NFL PLAY 60 Fitness Breaks
The first NFL PLAY 60 Fitness Break broadcast of the school year is coming up on September 21 at 12 p.m. CT. These free, 15-minute broadcasts help students learn about mental and physical health while adding minutes of movement to their day. Classrooms need to register online to receive the live link, or they can watch on-demand at any time after it airs. If you want to save the date, the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast will be held on Feb. 8 and an NFL Draft broadcast on April 25. Advanced registration for all three broadcasts is required.
NFL PLAY 60 Movement Moments & NFL PLAY 60 Grants
The second opportunity for students to get active is through a new weekly series of NFL PLAY 60 Movement Moments, which will launch in October and run through December. The Movement Moments feature NFL teams playing each week throughout the season in head-to-head exercise videos from the NFL PLAY 60 Exercise Library, on-demand exercises from the 32 NFL teams. Classrooms will be asked to vote on their favorite team or video at the end of each week, and the three classrooms with the most votes at the end of the Movement Moment series will be eligible for a $1,000 grant to use for physical activity equipment. One national winning school, receiving an additional $1,000 grant, will be named in the Super Bowl Fitness Break broadcast. Registration for the Movement Moment weekly matchup is available on www.heart.org/nflplay60.
NFL PLAY 60 Exercise Library
A full NFL PLAY 60 Exercise Library is available to kids to help them add movement minutes each day. The library which includes 2-3 minute exercise videos from each of the 32 team can be found at heart.org/NFLPLAY60. Teams who submitted new video content for this year will see that loaded very soon!
NFL PLAY 60 App and Fitness Tracking Competition Grant
Lastly the NFL PLAY 60 app, free and available for iOS and Android devices, allows users to select their favorite team and control personalized avatars onscreen with their own physical movement. Users can create custom workouts and earn special PLAY points and unlock cool NFL gear for on-screen PLAY 60 avatars. Launching again, this is the NFL PLAY 60 Fitness Tracking Competition which will run from Jan. 22 to Feb. 9. Using the Group Quickplay feature in the app, students will get active together adding to their classroom’s total activity minutes. At the end of the three-week competition, the classroom with the most activity minutes in each of the 32 NFL markets will receive a $1,000 grant with an additional $1,000 grant being awarded to the top classroom overall.
