Winter Weather

Please click the slideshow title below and review with students for our Winter weather expectations.  At our December EA meeting we also discussed the following items to create a common understanding to help us all.
  • Balls can be used on the blacktop when the field is closed as long as it is not being kicked toward the school or toward the road.
  • Snow, mud, or ice must wear boots
  • Snow = boots and snow pants
  • When there is snow on the ground, no boots and snow pants = black top
  • Coats - we are now at the point where just a sweatshirt isn’t ok at recess anymore. They will be sent in to get their coats if they don’t wear them out. If they didn’t bring a coat, they will have the natural consequences of being cold or can get one from Mr. Tom’s Closet.  If you are noticing repetitive forgetting of a coat, please call home to ask for their support.
  • No Rugby!!!!!

Taco Bar Luncheon

We are planning a Staff Luncheon for January! We will be doing a Taco Bar Luncheon on Tuesday, January 9th. If you would like to participate in the luncheon, please sign up to bring an item on the attached sign up sheet. We also added a few slots for some to donate money to those that are supplying the meat and for help with setting up and cleaning up. We will be sure to send out a reminder after the holidays in January too!

Naughty/Nutritious Days!
It’s time to decide if you want to be
naughty or nutritious or both.  Don’t worry if you decide to be naughty. . . Santa overlooks this time of year for school employees!
For those who are new to our school, all this talk of being naughty (or nutritious) means that each day, beginning Wednesday, December. 6th through Wednesday, December 20th, there will be treats available in the lounge for you to enjoy.
Here is the Naughty/Nutritious List that specifies which day you are assigned to tempt your fellow co-workers with your culinary and/or purchasing skills.  You may want to let the other people assigned to your day know what you are bringing in case everyone decides to bring the same thing.  The list will also be posted in the lounge for easy reference.
If we accidentally left you off the list or you are not able to bring in a treat on your assigned day, please feel free to switch with someone or just pick a day.
Enjoy!

Child Care Needs Assessment

Child care shortages nationwide have been an ongoing topic in news stories, among politicians, and in our local communities. Adequate access to quality, affordable child care is critical for families as well as our local economy.

The Kaukauna Area School District is currently gathering data in order to learn more about access to child care in our community, and how that impacts our staff, our families, and our local businesses.

As a KASD staff member, we would appreciate your input and perspective as we gather information about our local child care needs. Please note that the intent of this survey is solely to gather information and data around this issue, and it is not a commitment to any particular solution or future direction for the District.

If you could please fill out this brief Child Care Needs Assessment (4-5 questions) by Friday, December 15, it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you are not currently in need of child care for your own family, as a staff member and community member, your perspective on this topic is valuable.
